To make your own Bengkung bind it is suggested to use a muslin or batik fabric. These fabrics tend to be sturdier and stiffer fabric which will allow for more support and have less stretch or give.

The total length of your bind needs to be a minimum of 15 yards and the width needs to be 8 inches.

You can purchase your fabric as desired but the pieces will need to be sewn together to make the bind 15yds long by 8inch wide. When sewing pieces together avoid making a hem, I suggest instead overlapping pieces and sewing them together for length. Also leaving outer edges raw or surged to prevent fraying is best. I do not suggest an actual hem!
